The Real State Of Vancouver

While attending school in Vancouver, I resided in the DTES (Downtown Eastside). It was here where I received an education in humanity. The people that I met in my neighborhood will permanently be etched into my mind. Human beings with addiction or mental health issues but most importantly...human beings. I have volunteered with mental health and addiction initiatives since my time at school.

"The Real State of Vancouver" was my grad project creating an advertising campaign to fundraise for a non-denominational homeless shelter. It was a take off on the high-priced real estate property and the juxtaposition of million dollar high-rise condos with people sleeping on the streets below.

The campaign included experiential marketing, print ads, billboard and bus ads, real estate spoof ads and a microsite linked to a donation page for a local shelter. I was awarded the VFS Social Impact Award; but more importantly I gained a new perspective on what is important in life.
